Scion Presents Customized 2011 iQ at New York Auto Show

As a possible precursor of things to come, Toyota displayed a customized version of the all-new 2011 Scion iQ prepared by Five Axis at the New York International Auto Show.

The car's exterior appearance has been beefed up with an aero kit that includes front and rear aprons, side skirts and fender extensions that allow the use of eye-catching 18-inch alloys wrapped in 215/40R18 Yokohama tires.

Inside, the special iQ show car gets custom leather-trimmed seats and door inserts and an Ultrasuede EcoDesign headliner.

As for the performance upgrades, Five Axis installed a TRD Custom Big Brake Kit and a Tein sports suspension.

Five-Axis Beefs Up 2011 Scion tC Coupe

For those that found the second-generation Scion tC far too timid-looking, Toyota's tuning partner Five-Axis prepared a special version of the car to demonstrate the many ways in which the all-new coupe can be customized with internal and aftermarket accessories.

The Five Axis Scion tC show car features a four-inch wide-body conversion and a unique House of Color custom formulated exterior paint appropriately named, Bloodshot.

The coupe rides on beefy 20-inch AD R5:F alloy wheels shod in Yokahama Advan Sport tires size 245/30 up front and 295/25 at the rear. Performance upgrades include a TRD custom Big Brake kit and a Tein adjustable coil-over suspension.

Five Axis also enhanced the 2011 tC's interior with unique trim and color appointments and materials including custom leather-trimmed seats with Ultrasuede EcoDesign inserts.

New Wallpaper Gallery of Toyota FT-86 RWD Sports Coupe

The trickle of photos on the Toyota FT-86 Concept continues as the Japanese firm's European Design and Development (ED2) center in Nice, France, which is responsible for the coupe's styling, released a fresh batch of pictures and a short video of the rear-wheel drive sports car.

In a couple of shots, Toyota remembers its sporty past depicting the FT-86 alongside the Corolla AE86, Celica and Supra coupes. The updated gallery also includes some of the original sketches from the ED2 center.

During the company's press conference at the Geneva Show earlier this month, Andrea Formica, Senior Vice-President of Toyota Motor Europe, noted that the FT-86 would reach showrooms in early 2012.

While Toyota is holding back on most of the details on the production model, it is believed that at launch, the FT-86 (or whatever name the company chooses for the car) will be offered with a Subaru-derived 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine.
